Poccer was born in 2007.
The basic idea was to create the ultimate in a lads day out.
If you could choose your ideal day with your mates, what better than a game of football, some food, a few beers and a
game of poker.
Maybe an evening with some Supermodels?
Well you can't have everything!
Birmingham became the season 1 home of Poccer.
The Goals centre at Star City hosted the football, whilst the poker found its home at the Broadway casino.
THE BIG KICK OFF
After months of planning, it was time to bite the bullet and get Poccer underway.
Every favour I was ever owed was called in to get this off the ground.
8 teams took part and we had our only ever tie. The Aylesbury Green Machine and the Banana Dwarves went down in
the Poccer history books as the first ever winners.
Glyn Cooke of The Pot, became the first individual winner of Poccer.
Poccer was starting to grow. As 11 teams took part.
All 8 teams from event 1 came back, which demonstrated that either it was exceptionally good value or very enjoyable
(perhaps even both).
One of our new teams The Ditch Six won the title by 7 points from a much improved Bullens Bullets.
The individual trophy was won by Richard Tekell of the Banana Dwarves, playing in his first ever live poker game.
This event we learnt the meaning of last minute pressure, with a number of teams dropping out.
However this was a really enjoyable event.
2 new teams the Boro Boys and Robbos Rovers really made their unique mark on Poccer.
The Angels of Helsby started to take a grip of Poccer, winning the event by a then record 10 points from the Boro Boys,
who provided the individual winner Kevin Spyer.

It was time to take a christmas break and reflect on 3 enjoyable events.
How could we improve the event and spread the name of Poccer.
Some thinking time was needed, so where else can you go than St.Kitts in the Caribbean!
Some thinking time was needed, so where else can you go than St.Kitts in the Caribbean!
The Oceans Three took our first ever Beach Poccer title and Tom Cairns won the individual trophy.
Refreshed and invigorated it was time to really get behind Poccer and Season 2 continued.
Poccer really took off in 2008.
Event 4 became the biggest Poccer to date, with 17 teams taking part, taking us above 100 players.
This was the highest calibre tournament to date (with only IntheBelly missing).
Incredibly it was the Angels of Helsby who came up on top again, winning by 8 points from Bouncebackability.
Robbie Jones won the event for the Angels and also won himself a seat at the National Poker Championships at Nottingham.
Poccer 5 was another cracker.
15 Teams taking part and a titantic battle for the title.
With 7 players left, there were 3 from Team Sunpoker and 3 from IntheBelly.
In the end experience told as IntheBelly took the title, with Poker Legend Dave Colclough winning the individual trophy.
The last event before the grand final saw The Pot finally win a Poccer event at the 6th time of asking.
Winning by 18 points over Bullens Bullets.
Martin James made it a clean sweep for The Pot by winning the individual title.
18 months in the making and we had our first ever Grand Final.
10 of the greatest Poccer teams of all time took part.
There could only be one winner and it was undeniably the best Poccer team to date Angels of Helsby who ran out comfortable
winners.
A 19pt winning margin was the biggest ever for any event let alone the final!
Stephen Fergie of the Boro Boys became the grand final individual winner with a fine display of Poker.

Event - Beach Poccer 2 - November 20th/21st
Our first 2 day event, saw our biggest Beach Poccer event to date.
The Parbet team took the title by 7 points and then invested their $1000 prize straight away on the Roulette table!
All on red, it duly obliged and they had a night they can't remember!
Season 1 is complete.
Roll on Season 2.
